Youth and Family Programs

Temple B'nai Israel is proud to offer a wide array of programs for youth and families of all ages ranging from worship experiences to family learning to community building.

Family Worship Experiences
Our youngest families come together monthly for songs, stories, crafts, and prayers at tot Shabbat. Throughout the year, our Religious School students participate in family services on Sunday morning and Hebrew School students pray together monthly on Shabbat morning. We also offer family services and programs during the High Holy Days. Our weekly Friday night Shabbat services are designed to be meaningful to all with prayer, song, and community.

Holiday Programs
We strive to make the Jewish holidays accessible, meaningful, and fun for children and their families. From a Hanukkah Latke Fest to a Purim Carnival to a Sukkot Campout, our holiday programs bring families and friends together for learning and Jewish experiences.

Community Builders
Many of our programs create opportunities for families to build connections. Children younger than Pre-K come together monthly for our Torah Tots play group. Older children come together weekly at religious school and have additional opportunities to build community and identity at our many programs like First Fridays for Families, Jr. OKATY and OKATY events, and holiday programs,

Religious Education
Students from Pre-K to 10th grade are eligible for religious school, which is designed to build Jewish knowledge and identity through experiential learning. Additionally, 3rd through 6th graders build Hebrew skills in Hebrew school. Learn more about Religious Education here.

Youth Groups
OKATY is the Oklahoma Association of Temple Youth, our Temple B'nai Israel youth group for 9th-12th grade. OKATY is a student lead group that plans and hosts a variety of events throughout the year to build community among the Temple's teens. OKATY events include social action activities, Jewish learning opportunities, community-building events and excursions, and more. Jr. OKATY is our youth group for 6th-8th graders and puts on a number of events with Jewish learning and community.
