OKATY and Jr. Okaty

OKATY and Jr. OKATY, our youth groups, create community, belonging, and deepened Jewish identity and knowledge for middle school and high school aged teens.

OKATY
OKATY (Oklahoma Association of Temple Youth) is Temple B’nai Israel’s youth group for high schoolers. Led by a board of Temple teens, OKATY hosts multiple events each month to build community, provide Jewish learning and social action opportunities, and facilitate conversations and connections to Judaism. Our events range from social activities and outings to social action projects, but all have one thing in common: fun with new and old friends. So, if you want to try new things, have fun with friends, meet new people from near and far, engage with your Judaism, live Jewish values like the pursuit of justice, and make a difference in your community as a leader, then OKATY is for you!

Jr. OKATY
Jr. OKATY is our junior youth group for 6th-8th graders. Just like the older teens, Jr. OKATYites come together regularly for fun and meaningful events that build community and allow teens to explore what it means to engage with the world as a Jewish adult. Jr. OKATYites are often also invited to OKATY events with the high schoolers.

NFTY
OKATY is also part of the Union for Reform Judaism’s North American Federation of Temple Youth (NFTY). Annually, NFTY and its Texas-Oklahoma Region (NFTY-TOR) hold multiple events to bring together Jewish teens from around the region or nation. OKATY will travel to many of these events, provide scholarship when nessecary, and otherwise help make arrangements.

OKATY/Jr. OKATY Dues
OKATY dues ($54/year) and Jr. OKATY dues ($36/year) support all of our programming and assure that we can provide high-quality experiences. While you don’t have to be a member to come to events, dues-paying members get admission fees waived for all events and will only need to pay to help offset significant costs for certain events! Plus, only dues-paying members can take on a leadership role in OKATY!
