Lifecycle Events

From birth to death, Judaism sanctifies time with rituals of proper celebration, reverence, and solemnity. Temple B'nai Israel, provides all the necessary guidance and support to honor these special milestones of our lives.

To schedule a meeting to discuss a lifecycle event, to learn more about policies and fees involved, or for information about using the Temple building and grounds, send us an email

Birth
We are thrilled to welcome our newest members into the covenant! Rabbi Harris officiates at baby namings and Brit Milah.

B'nai Mitzvah
B'nai Mitzvah preparation begins in our Religious School and Hebrew School, where students develop their Jewish knowledge and Hebrew skills. After completing Hebrew School, students work closely with the Rabbi and Hebrew tutor to prepare to read Torah and lead worship. More details can be found in our B'nai Mitzvah Handbook.

Educational Milestones
In their first year of Religious School, students take part of a consecration ceremony. After B'nei Mitzvah, students are encouraged to continue attending Religious School to work towards confirmation at the end of tenth grade.

Marriage
Rabbi Harris takes delight in officiating at wedding ceremonies for Temple members. The Chapel, Sanctuary, and Temple Grounds all are beautiful places for a wedding. Rabbi Harris is also trained to offer premarital counseling.

Conversion
We welcome those who are considering conversion to begin to learn more about Judaism by attending services and programs at the Temple regularly. Those interested in conversion will need to take an Introduction to Judaism course, complete a full year of Jewish living, and meet regularly with the Rabbi.

End of Life
Temple B'nai Israel maintains sections of two cemeteries as well as memorial plaques in our Temple building. Contact our office to coordinate funeral arrangements.
