Fair Share Commitment Form

One day when Honi, the righteous man, was out walking, he came upon a man planting a carob tree.  “How long will it be before this tree bears fruit?” Honi asked.  “Seventy years,” the man replied.  “How do you know you’ll be alive in seventy years?” “Just as I found carob trees when I came into the world,” answered the man, “so am I now planting carob trees for my grandchildren to enjoy.”  - Babylonian Talmud, Taanit 23a.

As members of our Congregation, we ask you and your family to join us, and those who came before us, in supporting and maintaining Temple B’nai Israel, and ensuring the future of Reform Judaism in Oklahoma City.  Thank you for your generosity of time, resources and commitment!

Please review and complete this Fair Share Commitment form and pay your initial membership fee. 

As you complete the form, please bear in mind that each new member unit is also asked to make a one-time pledge to the Temple’s Building Fund, equal to twice the amount of the annual Fair Share Commitment.  The Building Fund pledge may be paid out over a five-year period beginning July 1st after joining.

The Temple spends about $900,000 per year on basic operations – translating to $3,000+ per member unit.  Seventy percent of this amount comes from members’ annual Fair Share Commitments. 

Suggested Annual Fair Share Commitment Table: Each member unit is invited to refer to the following progressive table of household income to determine its Fair Share Commitment:
