Virtual Prayerbook

We use the Mishkan T'filah  siddur. The Central Conference of American Rabbis (CCAR) has generously made a flipbook available for use at no charge. Follow the link and choose "Mishkan T'filah for Shabbat, Weekdays, and Festivals." This version will have only one set of page numbers, which correspond to the page numbers we announce at services.

You may also want to look at How to Use Flipbooks provided by the CCAR.

Repro Shabbat, January 28-29, 2022

Parsahat Mishpatim is deemed "Repro Shabbat" by the National Council of Jewish Women. It is a Shabbat to consider Jewish perspectives on reproductive justice, including access to abortion. To study texts beyond what Rabbi Harris will have time to present during services you may want to look at The Torah of Reproductive Justice annotated by Rabbi Danya Ruttenberg or this Extended Source Sheet also compiled by Rabbi Ruttenberg. These sheets are on Sefaria.org and allow you to click on verses to explore further commentaries and explanations from Jewish sources.

Many people have experienced pain, sadness, anger, and loss associated with reproduction, infertility, and pregnancy. Along the spectrum of experience we pray to be  a compassionate community that supports each other in joy and sorrow, in moments of celebration and difficulty. May this Shabbat remind us that Judaism helps us to seek holiness in every [sometimes complicated] moment of our lives.
