Congregational Campout

October 9-10, Evening through Morning

Reserve a campsite, bring your tent, and come to a congregational all-ages camp-out. Not much of a camper? Neither is the rabbi… but there are plenty of experienced campers and scouts in our Temple family who will help you out, including the organizer of the overnight, Laurie Bennett. Our overnight will include a campfire, looking at the stars and waning moon, morning songs, stretches and prayer, and the opportunity to make new memories. The campsite reservation is only $5 to cover the cost of late night snacks, breakfast, and supplies. Your reservation needs to be in by Wednesday, October 7.

As you wonder whether this event complies with your coronavirus precautions, please note what we expect:

  • Campsites must be reserved in advance so they can be marked, distanced and spread out across the Temple grounds. Think of our tents as our “sleep masks” and our campsites as our individual households’ bubbles of space.
  • Bring your own chairs to have distanced seating around the campfire.
  • Restrooms will have surface wipes available to use on faucet handles, etc. Masks are required when entering the building.
  • Social distancing will be followed, including outdoors.
  • Dinner will be on your own, prior to the event - or bring it with you to eat within your own campsite area.

In addition to the indoor showing of the Nefesh Mountain concert (seating is limited - separate reservation required), we plan to have a second screen outside with speakers to hear the concert for those who want to come earlier to pitch their tents and sit socially distanced outside enjoying the concert!
